History
Maturana Winery is a family vineyard that was born in 2010, founded by the winemaker José Ignacio Maturana, together with his brother Sebastián and their family. After the great earthquake that struck Chile that year, they decided to embark on a passion: the production of exceptional and unique wines that would represent a way of life and faithfully convey a sense of territory.
With a strong focus on rescuing heritage grape varieties and supporting family farming, the project aims to showcase the ancient vineyards of central Chile, dating back to approximately 1910, with grape varieties such as País, Torontel, Sémillon, and San Francisco, and to craft wines with a unique identity and high quality.
Maturana Winery has received significant accolades, such as "Best wine project of the year" and "Most innovative winery of the year," awarded in 2017 by the Circle of Gastronomic and Wine Critics of Chile.
